Systematic Line Studies

Curator’s Notes:  As one part of artist’s several years investigation into systematic art. This project draws a rule of sequence initially from the Exquisite Corpse game but has been recreated by the artist. In this new approach, the artist employs pure forms, where lines from the ending of one piece seamlessly connect to the beginning of the next one with fluid, dynamic strokes. These lines collectively create the illusion of perpetual motion, following this rule in an infinite array of ways.

While painting, the artist immerses himself in a diverse spectrum of visions, akin to the fusion of nature sounds and musical instruments in ambient music. This immersion accentuates the distinct textural layers in art, emphasizing their rhythmic qualities. The flowing lines adopt a serene poetic rhythm, music or the meandering of a river, a winding road, the systematic flow of blood, and the unexpected twists of life’s path. This creative process transforms art creation into a form of meditative motion.

Kurt meticulously organizes the strokes with precision, ensuring each line is of exact size span and a specific number of lines adhere to a particular direction. This forms the foundational basis for aesthetics. Additionally, he explores motion and vibration, striving to optimize visual impact, he curate a harmonious set of colors, fostering intimate interactions and embracing subdued tones to complement his work.
